Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson comes from a musical family. As a child, she was inspired by the classical music of her parents, boleros as well as the traditional romantic, ranchero, and romantic ballads. Ana is a fan of tangos, as well as the dramatic and opera performances. Her mother taught her to sing, but she began more intensive vocal training through Flavio Belcerra when she was just 16 years old. Belcerra was an internationally acclaimed Mexican opera tenor. The musical training continued with the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and later at the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. While a young student and professional, she sang with various chamber groups as well as opera choruses throughout Guadalajara as well as Mexico City. When she moved in the United States, she performed with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. After 2002 she moved to southern California. She sings with Ensemble XXI Redlands, and is a performer of Latin American traditional music solo for many private functions. Her love and passion for music, art, and performing has her involved in many local projects as a performer and teacher. Ana is a previous part of the Community Chorus of Redlands (as well being a member of the Inland Master Chorale) and Performance Loft. Ana appreciates being able to share her love and love for the traditional Latin American songs with others, and in doing so hopes to inspire a passion, especially among younger generations in order to keep this tradition alive.Viva Mexico!
